About Hayley:

My passion is wellness - for individuals and communities. There are many modalities through which we can heal, and I focus on understanding the human / nature connection. Specifically, traditions of plant-based medicine. I am lucky to have had many teachers: formally, in passing, and as friends. And I'm here to share with you what I've been learning. Our bodies are mutable, which means they seek health. Sometimes, we just need to get out of our own way, use our intuition, and heal. Herbal Intersection is an invitation for you to be empowered and interact with the process... a platform to practice being well.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Where does the name "Herbal Intersection" come from?

A good healer does not cure. Indeed, they do not even alieviate symptoms. A good healer intersects disease thoroughly and subtley at its source. Herbs are profoundly effective at this. Moreover, Herbal Intersection began to take form as a cohesive design at a time in my life when I was living on the go, out of my car, traveling all over the state of Wisconsin to wildcraft herbs for the remedies I make.

Why are herbs for Herbal Intersection harvested only within Wisconsin?

Based on the mission of Herbal Intersection, Wisconsin pride is at the heart of everything we do. The aim is to use a recognizable political boundary to establish what it means to source local for this company. And Wisconsin is my homestate with a diverse landscape and numerous blooming herbalists. It seemed like the perfect choice ;)

What are "vinfusions?" Why focus on them?

Admittedly, I made up the word "vinfusion." Also called infused vinegar, vinegar infusion, or vinegar tincture, it is a type of herbal extraction that is effective, affordable, and something that can be made from start to finish in any kitchen, making vinfusions a complete fit for Herbal Intersection's wellness supports sourced right here in Wisconsin.

What is the goal of giving so much information away through blog posts / of making Herbal Intersection reader-supported?

Ever feel compelled do something? Ever feel that way for years? Then somehow things start to align and you realize not only that you CAN do this, but you pretty much HAVE TO. That's how I feel about Herbal Intersection. More importantly, that's how I feel about the communities I live in, and the potential for greater wellness that exists there.
